Overview

This Cat Ketch was designed by Halsey Herreshoff and was built to very high standards by the Cat Ketch Corporation of Miami, Florida. The design offers a large, open interior with traditional lines above the water. The rigging includes a split sail plan to reduce sail loads and allows for quick reefing to 30% of full sail area. The spars are fiberglass/carbon fiber with Airex. This handsome sailboat is simple to sail and the sails can be winged out square to the wind on a downwind run.

The boat has a long waterline (28') and gains additional sailing length from a rudder that protrudes nearly a foot aft of the transom. This particular Herreshoff Cat Ketch 31 has a custom rudder fitted with ladder-step capability for emergency reboarding. After purchasing this great sailboat, the owner made many improvements to this boat including re-fiberglassing the keel, and rebuilding the skeg. The owner also re-cored and re-fiberglassed all through hulls as well as added backing plates to the stanchions for added strength.

Single 20HP 2-cylinder, Model 2.6OF Nanni Diesel with 140 hrs since rebuild. Sleeps 4 in a forward V-berth stateroom and Main Salon settees. The electronics include a GPS, autohelm, wind indicator, and depth sounder.

This is a beautiful cruising sailboat with beautiful refinished teak and holly sole and teak interior. The owner has made numerous upgrades to the boat since purchasing less than 2 years ago, including new sailing dinghy and electric outboard, new hand held GPS, new bottom paint (2010). The brightwork has been professionally refinished; and this boat is in excellent condition, ready for the next owner to enjoy! The owner welcomes offers! You will not be disappointed when you take a look at this new entry to the market!
