Overview

"BLOOMS" is a terrific vessel for our Florida waters. Drawing just 2' 10" with the board up and 7' with it down. This vessel has a strong presence in Western Europe and was built in France. Very few of these vessels were imported to the USA.

The hull is mostly flat from stem to stern to minimize the depth of the underbody. Support skegs on both sides of the centerboard trunk protect the prop in those areas. Twin rudders which are elliptical foils are canted port and starboard and are designed to accept the weight of the entire vessel when it is on the "hard."

Two heads, both with showers forward and aft, is a bonus on this vessel. Pressure Hot & Cold water, double sinks, refrigerator and a 3 burner Propane Oven and Stove.

"Blooms" is well equipped and ready for a new captain and crew. Enjoy sailing in places where other mono-hull sailors can only dream.

Hull & Deck

The "Feeling" 396 has a low profile cabin top with a flush foredeck.  The mast is deck stepped with lines led aft to cabin mounted self tailing winches.  At the bow are double anchor rollers and a generous chain locker.

The cockpit features a removable helmsman's seat that opens on to a swim platform making entering and exiting the water a breeze.  A bridge deck between the cockpit and the main hatch is perfect for "fair weather" lounging.

The hull is fabricated of solid glass with chopped strand mat and woven roving in a polyester resin matrix. The deck is cored with end grain balsa.  Longitudinal stringers and athwart ship frames are glassed in for structural rigidity. Hull thickness at the bottom of this vessel is 1" to support beaching, and includes a cast iron belly pan affixed externally into a recess in the under body.  This 6,860lbs of ballast provides great balance for "Blooms".  The lifting keel is constructed of fiberglass and weighs less than 300lbs and pivots around a heavy-duty stainless pin secured through bushings.
